Feature Request or Help for the Ignorant

I have several Favorites for Sports Events.

The way I have set them up is by Title and Keyword. For example, NFL Football and keyword Dallas Cowboys.

This ends up recording any game that has Dallas Cowboys in any field, not just in the Episode field.

Is there any way to set the keyword to look only at Episode name and not all fields? Or can this be added as a new feature?

(Please don't hold the fact that I'm a Cowboys fan against me.)

I think the only way to restrict a keyword favorite is to search in title only, which wouldn't really hurt much. Sage, in general, is designed to error on the side of recording MORE than you might watch, so filtering-out options are limited.

That said, what are you getting recording that is NFL Football, with the keyword search of Dallas Cowboys, that isn't a Dallas Cowboys game?

Alternatively, you can add a favorite with Dallas Cowboys as a person, because the teams in the sports events are considered actors in sage (though this might get other dallas cowboy specials and such, depending on how the guide data is written).

Should have mentioned that I tried this and it gives basically the same result.

Right, but what is being recorded that you aren't intending to?

I added teams as a favorite and never have this problem. Is that the same as adding it as a person?

Yeah, it's really the same thing. I believe the favorite option is "Add Favorite for Actor/Team" or something like that.

If you're using the integrated Schedules Direct, I just updated it last weekend to actually do this and I don't think it made it under the wire for when Stuckless published a new build last weekend. I don't watch sports, so I had no idea that WarlockRipper was doing this.

I know in WI Badger football games that I have had a few instances where a different game mentions the Badgers (College Football:Wisconsin) as a competitor from a previous game, so it records it. This fairly few and far between, and I usually catch it ahead of time and mark the foul game as watched so it doesn't record.

I can see that happening with keywords - thats why i suggested an Actor/Team favorite. It is likely that the Badgers weren't listed as roles in the unnecessary recording.

OK. Went back and tried to set an Actor/Team favorite.

I entered "dallas" and then chose Dallas Cowboys from the list on the right. Left all the defaults. When I look at Additional Airings, it shows 10 past airings, but no future airings. Dallas plays Thursday night.

So I tried creating an Actor/Team favorite using an actors name ("Albert Finney"). Additional Airings shows several past airings and several future airings.

For now I'll just go back to what I had before. I'm sure it's user error in one way or another.

Ok. I can get by until a new build comes out.
