media keys not working
Hi everyone, new sagetv user and I'm loving it so far. I've been able to get it setup by digging through the forums so far but running into a slight roadblock and wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction.
I have a windows 10 PC hanging off my TV that I'm using to watch video with the SageTVClient. I have a harmony hub remote hooked into the windows HTPC using the bluetooth connection, so it shows up just as a keyboard. I'm able to use the arrow buttons to navigate around, but the play/pause, skip forward and skip backwards buttons arent working for me. In the menu, I found the "Show SageTV Commands linked to Infrared/Keystroke" and it's not showing anything for the play/pause button. If I try the arrows, which do work, it tells me they're mapped to up/down. When looking at the button mapping in the harmony config app, yes the direction keys are mapped to the arrow keys. The play/pause button is mapped to "Play" and "Pause". I also have a USB keyboard attached and I get the same results using the dedicated media keys, the "show commands" does not register the USB keyboard media keys either. I've tried to using NextPVR and Kodi before, so I know these keys work in Kodi, though I'm much happier overall with the SageTV setup. To make this wife friendly, I would love to get the remote buttons to work like one would expect. I can go in and map all the harmony buttons to regular keyboard buttons and then map those regular keyboard buttons in SageTV. I'm hoping there is an easier way that I've overlooked to be able to get the media keys to work in SageTV. Any ideas? Thanks! |

SageTV / HD300 is in the Harmony database of devices.
But, I do not know if the Windows Client uses the same IR commands as the HD300.

Is there a Harmony profile that lets you enter things like map the Stop button to CTRL-S? SageTV recognizes several keyboard commands for things like play/pause/stop. I'm guessing a full list of keyboard commands is in the SageTV manual.

When you are adding a device, you can click "Add Computer". That sets up the remote to generate keyboard commands.

yeah, I have the windows client added with a virtual keyboard, not IR commands. I cant seem to find how to map multiple keystrokes in the harmony gui, so I can map S but not CTRL+S. That sounds like the best bet, to dig into the harmony to see how I can do that.
