V9 with Win10 and LAV Filters

So, long time Sage user, consistent lurker and occasional contributor, but not an expert in any of this, at all. I have what is probably a very basic question, but can't find an answer in the forums.

I have a clean Win 10 install, with a clean Sage V9 install, with a clean OpenDCT install. I read that I should install the LAV filters, since Win 10 does not have MPEG2 filters built in, so I did that.

In Detailed Setup, under Video/Audio, I chose LAV for MPEG2 Video, H.264 Video and VC-1 Video. Was I correct in using LAV for H.264 and VC-1?

Also, should I choose LAV Audio Decoder for MPEG2 Audio and HD Audio? Does consistency across decoders matter?

LAV should work just fine for just about everything - but don't worry that you have to have consistency between them - video and audio decoders don't typically interact, so you don't NEED to use the LAV Audio to get the best results. Personally, I prefer greater control over my audio chain, so I use ffdshow for all my audio, but depending on your setup, that may not be necessary, and LAV would be good enough.

Thanks, Fuzzy. My audio needs are modest -a 2.1 system through my receiver. I'll just use LAV on everything for simplicity.
