Request: Bolean logic for keywords in Favorites?
For setting up Favorites using keywords it looks like we can only use wild card characters.
It would be a great enhancement to add the AND, OR and NOT (!) logic to be able to better refine the keyword criteria. For instance I have a keyword for Formula 1 to capture all the races, but I'm not interested in the practices or qualification presentations, so it would be nice to be able to indicate: "Formula 1" AND !"Practice" AND !"Qualification" Or does this capability already exist and I just don't know the syntax? |

Check out pages 71 and 72 in the manual - they may give you the info you are seeking.

I looked at the manual and it only says you can use * and ? wildcards.
I will take a look at the Anti-Favorites plugin, though. Not sure how I would apply the regular expressions. Looks like I can use them to filter based on a character only, not a word. Do you have an example syntax I could use to filter on "Formula 1" but exclude programs with "Practice" or "Qualification"? |

I just checked out the ant-Favorites plugin but found it won't work for what I am looking for. You can only select a program from the guide, you can't select by keywords.
The problem is that for sports like Formula 1, the program name is not the same from week to week because the name includes the location of the race. So I have a favorite setup using the keyword "Formula 1". Likewise the programs that are practice laps or qualification laps are not the same from week to week. So I can't filter them out and therefore have to manually delete the recordings once complete (you can't cancel a Favorite recording - that would be a nice new feature as well). Any other ideas or suggestions? Thanks. |

Is there anything unique about the EPG showname regarding the Race specifically? I don't have any Formula 1 showing in my EPG, so can't really help much yet.

Exactly what I was about to say I have no Formula 1 on my epg either with over 300 channels.

True, no Formula 1 yet so bad example to work with. Try NASCAR: "Sprint Cup". Same problem. I end up with about 3-4 three hour recordings per weekend. Daytona 500 is next weekend so should show up.
I do limit recordings to Saturday and Sunday which cuts out practices on Friday. Thanks for taking a look. |
