Question Matcher to fix bad episode numbers?

So I was wondering if there were maybe more options using a matcher than just forcing a tv id. The thing is, ever since The Daily Show changed host, the EPG has been listing the new episodes as Season 1 (whereas Comedy Central and more importantly TheTVDB have it listed as Season 21). Is it possible to have BMT fix the episode numbers automatically when it is recorded via matcher?

I'm also open to other options to fix it.

Unfortunately, that is not possible

I don't really see an easy fix for this. BMT/Phoenix uses the information in the season/episode to do the lookup. If they are passed along from the EPG, then that's going to be used. There's really no way to override this. You can manually update the season number, but, I don't see an automated way of doing this

If you're using the default EPG from Zap2It, you could try contacting them to see if there's anything they can do about it. It might be hopeless, but it's at least worth a shot.

@stuckless: Maybe this situation could be looked into for the next version of Phoenix? I'm thinking that the first aired date could be a determining factor because I checked Zap2It and that date is correct. This way, if the user sets the option to override the SageTV data with thetvdb lookup, it could fix this.

Phoenix can already use the aired date to determine the episode, but, we'd need a way to flag a particular series to use this EVEN WHEN the data has a season and episode number. It's possible, for sure.

Ha! Of course, just about anything is possible. I wanted to bring it up as a possible enhancement for the next version, though. Would you want DarkWolf77 to enter it as an enhancement request on github?

Haha yeah that's kind of what I've been hoping could be done now. I'll enter it in Github later.

Already sent an email to Zap2it, but they haven't even replied with a stock message... But yeah, I agree - as I always tell people: worse they can do is say no.
