Reinstalling OS - Reinstall Sage or Restore Folder

I did a windows 7 to windows 10 upgrade and some of the non-sage related stuff didnt ugprade too well.

I am going to reinstall windows 10... other then bringing over the sage properties and the wiz.bin file would it make sense to restore anything else from the backup?

I think my big question comes to the plug-ins... If I copy over the old properties i assume that brings my settings.. but what happens to the plug-ins? do I need to reinstall them?

I think the primary point of contention will be the paths. If the installation path for Sage is identical to the old path, it should mostly work. You'd still need to install Sage first to get everything registered properly in Windows and then copy over your old files.

That being said, I did something like this once before (possibly without identical paths) and I spent more time tracking down issues than I would have if I had just configured everything from scratch. I also found it illuminating to refamiliarize myself with all the Sage settings. It was amazing how much I had forgotten.

I was kinda thinking the same thing(holding out and doing a fresh install) The whole point of a fresh install is to have a clean setup.

I did do screen captures of the add ons that I had so I can go through them and see which ones make sense to reinstall.

At a miniumn I dont want to redo the channel guide or favorites. I just spent a while a few weeks ago removing all these channels we never watch. I will have to figure out if the channel guide is in the properities or wiz.bin or somewhere else.
