Exclamation How do I restore the /Library/Application Support/SageTV folder?

I am using the Mac trial Client and was attempting to install a customization. Unfortunately, I damaged the /Library/Application Support/SageTV folder in the process and now SageTV client will not start. I tried re-installing the application, which pretty much involved dragging the application to the applications folder but that obviously does not recreate the /Library/Application Support/SageTV folder.

So, how can I force SageTV to start from scratch and re-create the /Library/Application Support/SageTV folder? I tried deleting the folder entirely, but that has made it worse because now all I get it the programs icon in the dock and nothing else. As of right now I can not use the client on my Mac.

Delete /Library/Receipts/SageTVServer.pkg and launch the client, this will force the installer to run again.

This begs the question s to whether the customizations will work with the Mac Beta version. Will there need to be customizations built specifically for OSX?

Yes, they should. But be aware that the customizations may have other requirements, like SageMC currently requires J2SE release 6, which is only available as a developer preview and then only for 64 bit machines.

Otherwise, just drop the modifications in the Data or Data/STVs folder. jar and jnilib files will need to go in Data.

Hey Iconic,

Do the SageMC install instructions on the following SageTV thread also apply to the Mac Beta?

http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/down...do=file&id=141

I'm just wondering if there are any Mac-centric issues that I need to know about before I risk screwing up my perfectly working SageTV MacOSX install (to my wife's certain dismay). In the unpacked SageMC folder there are a bunch of DLLs that I wouldn't need with OSX.

Thanks,
MB

Uh, I am fairly new to the Mac (been a windows user / programmer for years). Where is this Data directory that you are mentioning?

I have clicked on SageTV Client and I choose "show package contents" but I don't see a Data director in there.

Thanks
Greg
