Sage , OpenDCT and Windows 10 work just fine... you might have other problems in your windows 10 Install. All my Installs are clean Installs on Windows 10... I would never do an Update I would just copy personal files and do a clean Install.

Since Media Center wont come along with the upgrade to windows 10, is there any reason i would still require media center if I no longer plan to use a cable card tuner?

You don't need Windows Media Center even if you do use a CC tuner (with Sage), you only needed WMC if your channels were flagged Copy Once (ie required DRM).
