Music Browser issue...
I want to start using Sage to play back music on my home system (CD/DVD player just tankered itself... 15 year old unit. can't be too mad I guess) but I can't STAND the Stage7 view. How can I customize it to look more like the Sage3 version?
BAD GOOD It's mostly the fact I want more text visible, or wrapped, for things like the Artist or Album name(s) when in their respective views. Also I don't really want or need the split screen setup in 7. Any thoughts or ideas how to fix this? Thanks!

Try using the Options command, then choose Menu Options, then set the number of columns and rows you want. You can get a grid, but it will still have info about the currently highlighted item on the right.
Someone who has used a custom UI can comment on what else is available... Andy

I would experiment with one of the custom UIs, either Gemstone or Phoenix. Personally I use Gemstone and although it does take some work to configure to my liking, it's highly customizable and flexible.
If by chance you are using an extender then I would recommend looking at Routerunner's squeezeslave plugin. This is an underrated plugin in my opinion that allows full access to your music library and many online streaming services through your extender, all controlled by your phone or tablet using Logitech Media Server (Squeezeserver). Music playback in Sage has been neglected for years unfortunately. I hope with open source that eventually we will see some neglected features (gapless playback please!). |

The J River media plugin works very well for me but takes some setup time. Might take a look at that.
