Client Menu Problems

I keep having this problem since I started using a client with the open source version. When the client wakes up the windows server I dont get any menus in gemstone. Does anyone know of a fix for this?

Go into options and menu manager and reset or re load the menus. Can't recall the function but it might help get them back. I have seen this on updates on occasion on v7 as well.

Still no luck. I have to restart the client computer through windows media center using the remote since it has no keyboard and mouse and is tucked away in a closet.

Are you saying a reboot of the client resolves the issue ?

Were you able to go into options and do the steps I suggested yet it still did not resolve the issue ?

When I go to the menu manager and try to do anything I just get the spinning wheel and it all freezes up.

I've seen the no-menu issue before if my server is down when the client is started up, and only exiting and rerunning the client seems to get it out of it. Some resource or property is being pulled (or attempted to be pulled) from the server, and since the server isn't there, it doesn't work, and instead of trying later, it just goes with no menu. I have not tried to trace it down further than that yet, mainly because it requires me taking my server offline to troubleshoot - and my kids will have non of that.

Maybe this will help to track down the source of the problem:

I tried the move jusjoken suggested in the menu manager but I get the spinning wheel of death. Then I tried changing the custom menu type from sage to metro. That worked and a new metro style menu was loaded.

On my next load after the client woke the server the metro frame was there but there were no menus. I went into menu manager and switched back to sage as the custom menu of choice. It loaded that default menu.

Oh, and after the default sage menu is selected and loaded custom menu should be turned off

Since then whenever the client wakes the server I have hand no problems with the menus not loading.

What is interesting though is that if I try to load metro there are no menus there. Only the default sage menus work now.

I trust I wasnt too confusing. I can upload pictures is necessary.
