AcuRite Weather Stations

Would there be any way to feed SageTV's weather with the data from a unit like this, or would this be a significant undertaking?

http://www.acurite.com/weather-envir...em-909wes.html

The attached image shows an example of what the data looks like on a webpage.

I have a Davis Vantage Pro and would also like to use my weather station as a weather feed in sagetv. I think I mentioned this a while back but got no response.

IF you are using Phoenix, then phoenix has a pluggable weather API. I there there are 4 implementations in there now, so you'd be able to see how it works.

Could you feed your weather station to Weather Underground? Sage pulls it's weather from that now. I'm not sure how to pick a specific weather station for Sage to grab from Weather Underground though (must be possible somehow, probably a properties file setting).

My station has been on Weather underground for 15 yrs and I haven't been able to figure out how to get that info in sage. I have toyed with the the idea where I could setup a menu that would display my weather underground page, but would much rather it show in the weather display for sage. I would check Pheonix for that feature, but there are other features I need that Pheonix doesn't have.

Stuckless, what do you mean by pluggable? Like I could plug my data into it?
Virtual Weather Station saves the info in a csv file. I'd like to be able to have the value from the cvs file plugged into sage if that's what you mean. I installed Pheonix 2 and see it has 3 options, one being weather underground. Could I scrape the data from my weather site info on weather underground?

What I meant was that via some programming, you (or someone) could write a weather plugin, that pulls the information directly from your weather station (or from a csv).

But, since you upload your data to weather underground, and phoenix supports weather underground (I think)... it might be as easy as setting your "Location" to your weather station id.

I went digging for a property to set but then I took a step back, and you can just punch in your city/zip, and it will just bring up a list of all the stations nearby. I don't have have a station in Weather Underground but I could find the one I usually look at that's nearby in Sage and use that.

I'm using Gemstone, so how would I go about linking it up with something like this:

I don't know about Gemstone (I assume it doesn't mess with the stock weather functionality), just punch in Mukwonago, Wi for the city and you should see it listed as an option.

When I punch in the zip code (Gemstone), it gives me Mukwonago as the sole option as far as I can tell. There are a few different personal weather stations in the city, but no additional options appear.

I can type in the name or the zip code, and Gemstone confirms the city and state, and as far as I can tell, that's it, there is no option presented for a secondary selection. I don't even remember how to set this or what it looks like in the stock STV.

Make sure you've got the latest STV and Google Weather plugin. Then you should be able to select "Configure the Weather Underground report location"

On one server, using the default STV, I was able to check/download the latest STV per Opus' instructions from a FAQ thread, and then I was finally able to find that screen by running through the configuration wizard (thanks Stanger for that screenshot).

Setup > Configuration Wizard > Set the General and User Interface Options
(and then the weather configuration was near the end of this group or settings)

On the other server, I can't figure out how to get Gemstone to target just that one weather station instead of the city itself. Maybe I need to revert to the stock STV, setup the weather, then enable Gemstone again. I'll have to wait for an answer over here:

http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=51

Thanks again for getting me pointed in the right direction folks.
