Out of ideas - need some input

Guys,
I moved my server and foolishly pulled my HDPVR USB cables without marking them. I now have a situation where the HDPVR detect in windows and Sage but I am not able to capture during Setup. When attempting to capture, the log is just filled with "VF waiting for data to appear in file".

To attempt to remedy this I have already gone down the path of:
- reinstall Sagetv
- upgrade/downgrade HDPVR
- different USB ports
- using PCI USB card
- swapped around power supplies on HDPVR (I found a bad one in my box of goodies, HDPVR wouldn't detect with it even though LEDs were on)
- tried my standby HDPVR
- Verified with Hauppauge capture that at least one HDPVR seems to work properly (I can see what is playing on the Directv box - haven't verified audio)

During this ordeal I have at times had one HDPVR working properly with a second having screwy issues with resolution and the third never working. Got a second box working though audio wasn't being captured and a whole host of other attempts.

This box was "Appliance" status for quite a while, now nothing works as intended. I have been screwing around with this on and off for several weeks and don't want to throw in the towel but am running out of ideas.
