Saving posters and fanart.
There are times when BMT doesn't get fanart and I have to manually insert it.
I image my sagetv server drive once a week, but any fanart I have manually added since the image is lost. I know which folder the fanart is in , but if I backup that folder I am wondering if when I have to restore an drive image if there is any way of getting the covers and backgrounds to install by copying the backup up copy of the folder those folders onto the restored image of the sage server drive? or do I have to backup the wiz.bin as well? What I am getting at is if I copy the wiz.bin and the fanart folders to a reimaged drive, will sage see the fanart.

I run a headless sage server and multiple sage PC clients. I chose to create a root folder called fanart on my server. I then point everything to it. Bmt automatically creates the movie/tv subdirectories as well as populating the shows I record into that directory. I also manually create my own properties files for other videos where no scraping exists, create the three subfolders for banners, posters and backgrounds. When I recently rebuilt a new server, it was a simple matter to copy the entire folder structure, re-point Sage to the new location, and everything was just fine after a media rescan.

Thanks, I didn't know if something was also stored in the wiz.bin. I just backed up my fanart folder to 2 different other drives. I always make 2 backups in case 1 of the backup devices fails. Previously (2 days ago) I re-added about 50 covers and backgrounds because of a 2 month old image restore. took a few hours.

I backup my Sage server with a drive image a couple of times a year. Every night the Sage directory which contains the fanart by default is backed up to the 2 drives where the recordings are with a folder synchronized. One drive on odd days, the other on even days. If I have a failure, Sage is at most off by half a day.
