Sagetv server linux

Do I need a serial number for the the linux version of sagetv server? I own the windows version

Yes, separate product requiring a separate license.

Crap. This was the exact question I was going to ask. So how much is the Linux license? I need to decide if I need to change my plans on which machine to use...

SageTV licenses aren't for sale anymore (since Google bought them a few years ago and shut down their store). You may be able to find something used (try the marketplace section of this forum or else EBay).
