Question WHS 2011 w/ HD300 for playback - do I need ffdshow & AC3filter?

Building a new WHS 2011 server. Most playback will be on HD300's to a modern AVR and HDTV with occasional viewing on a different client PC.

Question is, do I need to install any additional items (ffdshow/AC3filter/?) to ensure that I am getting the best possible sound and video performance? I believe that for the most part any codecs or filters are only needed on the client side, but I'm unsure what is needed on the server side.

The confusion stems from the install instructions on Missing Remote which includes these additions, but it's unclear if they are intended for a client only. I haven't installed these items in the past on my old WHS v1 server and things seemed to work fine (although I am now getting "no signal" with my HDHR Prime - but I believe this is due to changes in the Comcast broadcast which are resolved by using the latest SageDCT and a more modern OS like WHS 2011).

Any help would be appreciated,
uberpixel

I just did a fresh install of WHS2011 and it is stock with sagetv only. I left everything as is and running a hd300 and a client perfectly.

Sounds good. I'm up and running with no problems. I'll leave well enough alone.

Time to update my signature with my new rig!

Thanks!
