Hep with Firewire tuning on SA4250's and 2 Colossususususuuses

Have two Colossi(?) installed and running in sage. Channel changing via firewire is baffling me.

Boxes are set up, drivers are there, now it's time to actually get it to change channels, but I can't make heads or tails of all of the different moving parts between exemultituner, sagechanger, firestb, timmoore, channel.exe, etc.

I think sagechanger is what I want as I have had issues with boxes shutting off. Can someone help me get from point a to point b?

You do have 32 bit version of Win7, correct? The firewire drivers won't work with Win7 64.

First step is to install the Timmoore drivers, or you may need these http://home.comcast.net/~exdeus/stbfirewire/ as the original drivers predate the SA4250HD.

Follow those instructions or the ones on the Timmoore page and see if you can change the channel from a command line.

You may not need to worry about the power settings as there is a feature in the SA4250HD where you can set the power on keys to be any setting - check this out in the settings screens for the STB. Since that is the case I never miss recordings due to the box not being powered on. The Sagechanger app is useful, but it still requires the drivers and is a replacement for the channel.exe program.

Report back once you get to that stage and we should be able to help a bit more. It has been years since I set this up but I think I can remember the pertinent things. You will also want to note the UniqueID of your cable box as it can make sense to use that to identify which box to change.

The Sagechanger thread will be useful http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51608
