Exclamation Partial recording due to conflict

I have recently started seeing this error message on random recordings, but often on Monday nights. The recording will then have a gap of several minutes in the middle of the show and then resume and complete the recording. I have a Ceton cable card tuner with 4 tuners. They are all working and there is only one show scheduled to record at that time. The recording schedule shows no conflicts. It is interesting that the error message says the recording was not completed due to conflicts on [B]other[B] tuners.

Has anyone seen this problem? Any advice?

BUMP

Nobody else is seeing this? I've checked my cablecard and tuner settings which all appear to be working fine. See attached error messages.

Next step is to reinstall Sage if I can't fix it.

That is the way Sage works .... if it detects a conflict and the show cannot be scheduled in is entirety then if able will record a partial instead of recording nothing.

Thanks. I don't understand why this is happening because I have a Ceton cable card with 4 tuners and the error appears when there is only one scheduled recording. I can manually start 4 recordings at the same time with no problem and Sage never shows any conflicts on the recording conflicts menu.

I thought it might be due to specifying HD channels for favorites, but when I change the setting to "any channel" I still get the conflicts.

The symptom you describe suggests to me your cable signal maybe temporarily dropping out.

Once Sage starts to record a show, I don't believe it can jump to another tuner if the current tuner loses it's signal. Even if could jump tuners, I suspect you would still lose a few moments of the show while the fail-over tuner tunes the channel.

This obviously dosen't offer a solution but if signal drop outs are the issue, rebuilding SageTV would not fix the problem. Neither would making any changes to your Sage configuration.

I was thinking the same thing. The cable card diagnostics all check out fine, but these Ceton cards have cable connections that are a bit flimsy. The reason I was thinking of reinstalling was in case my DCT setting or tuner configuration in Sage might be corrupted.

I think I've solved this by adding a little padding at the end of each favorite recording. Not sure why this didn't occur in the past as I've had back to back recordings for a long time, but am happy the errors appear to have gone away.
