Vivo Music videos from youtube

It's been a long time since I've been able to play any of these thru Sage.
Is it likely we should just give up on hoping that will one day return?
Obviously, the product is dead, but there was a time there where Youtube issues were addressed and fixed. I just wondered if those days are now over.

just checked Youtube to show someone a couple of Weird Al videos.....still NO GO playing music videos VIA SageTV online menu. I checked my iPad, and most were Vevo.
still hoping.....no?

I may know the answer. I was investigating this a couple of weeks ago.

I think they have installed some security to prevent you (and SageTV) from downloading the content. That forces you to go to the web site and view their advertisements.

The Firefox add-in I have used to download videos will not work on the content either.

ah, ok, that would make sense....Google = ads, after all.
I guess the lack of response from admins and moderators would pretty much confirm that. thanks for the test concept.
sometimes I really hate everything there is about Google...and to think, we were planning a 'Nest' purchase this year....that ain't gonna happen.....

I actually bought a Nest, opened it up, and then returned it. I couldn't get a single member of their "concierge" service to return my calls. Nest just told me, "They must be busy. Try another one."

I've since decided on ecobee when I again decide to replace the thermostat.

BTW, if you have a proprietary system (e.g. Carrier Infinity, etc), you'll need to rewire your entire system rather than just replacing the thermostat (no matter what thermostat you choose).
