Youtube videos not playing

Hi, I just got my HD200 hooked up yesterday. Troubleshooting a bunch of issues as I go along. Right now I'm trying to figure out why this is happening:

Go to Youtube Videos
Go to 'Top Rated' (doesn't matter, happens on all of them)
I get a list of videos to select from. It downloads the icons for them, etc.
But when I select one to play, it says:

Unable to determine correct file format to download

Or something to that effect.

I can connect to my computer and stream videos that I have saved, I just can't get any of the ones to stream down from Youtube over the internet. I've updated my box to the latest firmware (20090903 0)

Thanks in advance for the help!

See the announcement forum for the HD200 firmware details & instructions for loading the latest beta firmware.

Ok thanks. Updated to the beta, tried it again, and it gave me the same error.

I then went and tried a google video, it worked. Then went back and tried Youtube and now it's all working.

I've seen someone else say this too, but you should include something with the unit that tells people that the system update really isn't the real system update and they should do the beta. And also maybe a link to something on here that helps newbies get started. I still really don't have a good grasp on what the unit should look like or do. For instance, I can browse to all my files on my computer, but I'd love to be able to set up a shortcut to certain folders. There are some options like 'add folder to library' or something that make me think the capability is there to do what I want, but I haven't been able to figure out how to get it to work. Is there a more indepth userguide somewhere other than the little 10 page setup one?

I always had this same problem with my HD200. And I do keep up with the latest beta firmware.

What is odd is that it sometimes works with the HD200 directly, but when I conenctto the SageTV server and try Youtube or Google I always get the message.

On a side note, it would be a great feature to be able to save youtube links to some kind of favorites. It is a pain to keep having to search for "monster mash" for the kids.

Hey dbullock, I had the same issue. Once I had updated the HD200 to the newest beta version I was able to view Youtube videos in standalone mode, but when connected as an extender I would get the "unable to find the file" message. I updated the STV file on my server and the problem is gone.

Have had the unit for 4 days now and I think most of the bugs are worked out...even more thrilled that I am able to run it wireless on a Dlink bridge!!
