Plugin to limit guide to only favorite channels?

In version 7, is there a built in way or a plugin that would allow me to view a limited guide for select favorite channels? Didn't used to have this problem when I had only OTA but now that I have FIOS, I'm overwhelmed with the guide and want to limit my choice temporarily.

What I don't want to do is remove the channels altogether. I just want to switch to a limited guide view every now and then. TIA.

Not a lot of work has gone on in the guide area, because frankly, very few users ever see that screen, short of troubleshooting and setup.

You could remap the favorites by changing the logical channel number under the channel summary in video sources. You could set channels 2 through 20 as your favorites and then leave everything else alone.

This is sort of what I've done by remapping the public service and educational etc that used to be channels 2,3,5,6 and 13 to 603 605 etc. This freed up space to move my local secondary clear QAM channels to the top of the list.

That is a really good idea and simple solution.

Thanks guys. I was hoping there was a more elegant solution. Kind of like a favorite guide and a full guide. Oh well. Guess I have to remap.

There was something for V6 SageTV - my Favorite Channel Lists plugin. I have no plans to update it to 7.x SageTV (no time) so unless someone else updates it a remap is your only real option. If I ever do get time and update it I would simplify it somewhat as it had links to the configuration screen from a lot of menus that I would remove.

As Fuzzy mentioned, I've never been to the 'Favorites' page so I don't know if this applies... In any case, I've simply removed channels from my various tuners, so the program guide that shows are only channels that I have active subscriptions to; I've also eliminated ALL SD channels, as we simply don't watch them. Doing so, has greatly streamlined my program guide and I don't have to scroll through channels that I'm never going to watch anyway.

I recently did this to my entire channel list. I have both Bell TV (Canada) and DishNetwork (US) as sources, so this was also a way to group like chennels from both sources together. For example, I have ESPN, ESPN2, etc. starting at channel 3000, followed by TSN, TSN2, CTV SportsNet, etc. I've got all the networks in the 1000s, specialty channels in the 2000s, educational starting at 2500, movies in the 3000s, news in the 4000s, and music in the 5000s.

However, I've had two issues with incorrect channel tuning since I did this. Tried to tape the Laker game last night on TSN2, which is physical channel 1401 and logical channel 3018. It tuned the receiver to 318. I also had an instance where instead of tuning to HBO physical channel 300 (logical channel 3115), it landed on channel 5000 or so which just so happens to be the first physical channel above 3115. Anyone else see this apparent bug where it attempts to tune to the logical channel instead of the physical channel? Strange that it has only happened twice...
