hvr1600 seems to be dying, best dual analog tuner replacement?
I have two aging hvr-1600s, one of which had the analog tuner die last year. We have been making do with a single analog tuner to record my wife and kids AMC and Lifetime and Disney shows since then. All of a sudden about a week ago the audio is getting way out of sync (like 2-3 seconds by end of show) with the video on anything I record over the analog tuner. The two OTA tuners are unaffected, so that "seems" to narrow the problem down to either the tuner or the signal itself? I ordered a brand new HDHR3 dual tuner only to realize upon installation that it can not see analog, doh! Thats okay, that means I can just retire both 1600's.
So what would be the best solution to implement a pair of analog tuners? I would prefer a non-expansion card solution as the old motherboard only has the two PCI slots and I want to use one for a controller card. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as my wife is not real happy with the current situation. I am recording Time Warner basic cable if that changes anything. Thanks!
