Very Slow Launch
Hi
I'm having a few problems with my main server/client. If I have to reboot it the service runs straight away and is stable but the client takes minutes to load (or sometimes doesnt start at all). I get the splash screen and then nothing else. I then have to close the client and relaunch it and most of the time it launches but take a while. I'm running on Windows 8 on a quad core cpu with 8GB ram and the OS and Sage are running from an SSD drive so it should be pretty quick Once the client is eventually running everything is running fine and menus/fanart etc.. are really quick Can anybody suggest how to diagnose whats causing the crashes/lag in launching. Just to add the client seems pretty stable once its actually running I'm currently running Java 6_45 (which runs fine) as seem to have problems with Java 7 as my tuners struggle to tune and I'm left with the spinning circle, not sure if thats related, other 4 clients in the house running the client are OK and SageClient launches without problem

The spinning is actually related to your tuners... SageTV is having trouble enumerating them... I discovered this the hard way and traced it down to an issue with my SageTV Network Encoder... fixed the Network Encoder and boom fast again with no spinning circle. |
