Problems with overlapping favorite

I am trying to capture most of a series that is playing back-back.
Because of the way that sage is recording, I lose the last 15-30 seconds of the show and the 1st 15-30 seconds of the next show. The last 15-30 seconds of the this show is important for this particular series -- if I don't get it might as well have not recorded it. (The 1st 15-30 seconds is intro and can be missed).
SO, I told sage to record a minute over and expect to get every other one (getting the series in 2 passes). This is what is shows on the recording schedule.

THE PROBLEM IS that it does not follow the recording schedule. Instead, it ends the 1st at 1 minute over like it says it will. THEN starts an unscheduled favorite late claiming a tuner conflict and records one minute over making every subsequent recording trash since I'm losing 1.5 minutes off the beginning of these shows .

Is this a known problem (not to be fixed since sage is no longer being updated) or do I have something configured wrong?

Thanks!

It's a known issue with the core scheduler. Only way to work around it is to either schedule manual recordings as needed or add additional tuners to your server.

Thanks. I'll try switching it's favorite recordings to manual and see what happens.

The problem I have with this SageTV bug and the work around is that FX likes to change it's start time for the non-prime time airings on a daily basis it seems like. So when I get EPG updates SageTV will change the Manual Recording to a Timed Recording since it isn't a favorite. Then I have to catch it and cancel the timed recording and add the manual recording back. I've done this an many as 5 times for one episode before. If we could get the bug fixed I would want them to also allow updates to the Manual Recording times as the schedule changes and if the show just moved it's time but is otherwise the same show and episode then just adjust the time on the manual recording. The slightly more possible option is to get FX to NOT move their show start times for non-prime time shows around so much.

*Fat chance on either ever happening

Why not solve it by adding a tuner (i.e. prime)?

That only works if you have Cable. I have satellite.

Now it sometimes won't let me change start/stop times!!!

Ok. I've had this working for a week or 2, but I'm having problems with it making changes to the schedule and locking them in.

I set the start/stop times to a minute before/after to make sure that I get the whole show and lock-out the back-back problem that I'm having.

When I'm setting manual recordings to make the favorites work, it sometimes creates its OWN back-back manual recordings with start/stop times of zero and won't let me change them . It will change MY manual recordings this way and won't let me change them back . I can sometimes remove them and with a lot of playing convince it to do want I want. But I've hit a day where it just keeps doing what it wants, overriding my settings with it's own!!!

Suggestions???

(No, I can't add a tuner...)
