Fox definetly messed up racing! Killing the speed channel in the middle of the seasons was aweful. Both F1 and NASCAR are down to thier last four races. I truely hate winter ...

Nice to hear Montoya is going back to F1! He was my favorite back when he drove for Williams/BMW in early 2002-ish.

You definitely need to see "Senna" - truly an outstanding film, and heartbreaking at the same time. There just don't seem to be drivers born of his caliber anymore.

I look forward to seeing Rush, although every other 'racing film' I've seen portrayed the sport in such unrealistic light as to be painful to see.

Yeah, even Jimmie Johnson says Montoya is an excelant driver. I need to correct myself though, Montoya is going to be racing Indy car for Penske Racing and not F1.

Thanks for that update - I thought I felt the ground move while reading " ... back to F1"!

Good luck JPM

'Senna' was good stuff, but they still had to ask Bernie's permission for almost all their footage. With 'Rush', it was set before Bernie took over F1, so they didn't have any problem using or recreating anything from the era.
Totally worthy of it's Best Picture nomination....

RUSH

Finally saw it on on-demand - great movie! My non-F1 watching wife liked it too (ditto for Senna); and, I found it more like Senna then the racing classics Grand Prix and Le Mans.

FWIW - I think Ricky Bobby was one of the best movies of the last decade (I know, there goes my creditability ).

Man I can see why. I watched it earlier this week while home sick. Man what a great movie, not just the racing aspects, but the theme itself, very captivating. I can see why it was nominated. Real life stories don't usually keep my attention that well, but this one sure did.
