Missing Posters in Videos View
I'm pretty sure this particular problem was buried in a thread elsewhere, but I cannot find it for the life of me to see if it was ever resolved.
My setup: Headless SageTV Server (Win 64, 8GB RAM, 250 GB HD free, running as service...) 3 HD300's 3 HD200's When I'm browsing my movies collection using the standard Gemstone facilities (view = list), there are several movies which do not display their posters and/or backgrounds. The fanart is downloaded and available as I can see them in BMT and the Fan Art editor in Gemstone. In fact, the only way I can get the poster and/or background to show up for these items is to go into the Fan Art editor for each one and choose the first poster or background and make it the default, and this only works every once in awhile (less than 50% of the time). This will be a LONG process for the 50 or more titles that are currently exhibiting this behavior. I've tried flushing the local and disk cache then rebuilding it from each of extenders, but still get the same behavior each time. I also see this behavior on my placeshifter client and main SageTV instance. Any idea what is causing this to happen and how to resolve it? Logs attached.

You are not going to like the answer...but it is logged as an issue but we have not found a fix for it. I am pretty certain it will need code changes and I plan to do some other fanart related changes at the same time but not likely until I find time...perhaps fall.
I get the same issue as well but have not found a good work around. k |

Ahh. Okay. Thanks. Any place I can track the progress? Like a google project issue tracker?

Issues list link is in the FAQ item...but here it is too....
But now that I look over the list no one has added an item for this....so feel free! The more details we collect on what might cause the issue the better. k |

I see something similar (I think).
I use SageMyMovies and Collection Management. All I ever see in my flows for movies are the DVD covers. I *think* this is because it is picking up the jpg stored in the folder for each video. This used to work automatically but now doesn't since I rebuilt my server (I thought it was a problem on my end but maybe not?) but to get everything to show all I have to do is use the option to search for metadata. Once I do this and select the correct movie, then I get the fanart and can use the Gemstone fanart manager to select what I want. I also notice this in my regular Recordings menu too. Most of the stuff I am recording I already had recorded at least once before my server crashed (but my recording drives were fine) and for these shows my fanart works. However, for new shows, I have no fanart, backgrounds, nothing. I have to manually select which show it is and then the fanart does appear. Just some info in case this is a related problem. |
