SageTV just started stuttering on playback

Everything was running fine last week. Now recordings from yesterday and today stutter when they're played back. I originally thought it was because the machine hadn't been rebooted in a while, but that didn't help the Friday recording. I had hoped that the reboot would make it better to record today, but that's stuttering as well. Nothing new was loaded on the system, not even a Java or MS update. Windows XP SP3, 3GB ram, Athlon II X2 240. Task manager doesn't show anything abnormal taking up resources. I also just tried playback of an older recording, and it did the same thing. So it may now be the recording aspect. Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

It could be a disk problem. Check the disk queue length. It should be below 2.

Also, mine was a network card driver. Performed well for everything else, but for sage it was problematic. Check if you've had any recent network card driver updates, and maybe roll it back to the previous version...

Check out my thread on a similar problem.

If you drop from DMA mode to PIO mode it will cause this problem as the drive can't transfer data fast enough.
