HDPVR2 and the Moto DCX3200

Does anyone run the HDPVR2 and DCX3200 combo using the supplied IR Blaster?
The DCX3200 uses a newer format IR control system - I know that from other posts I have read. However all solutions seem to relate to using the USB-UIRT not the Hauppauge unit.
I would rather not have to buy more hardware if the device in the box can be made to do the job.
Any suggestions how to persuade the Hauppauge configuration utility to send codes that the DCX3200 will understand? I have tried telling it that the box is a 6700 but that did nothing.

Do you have more than one IR capable Hauppauge tuner? If so the Hauppauge IR driver would (in the past anyway) only work on ONE device and it was the first one it found which might not be your HD-PVR2.

No - just the one HDPVR. My other tuners are an R5000 and an older analog tuner. The HDPVR2 is the only one on this system using an IR remote.

Update - BTW the IR baster does appear to respond to the data sent from the configuration utility - at least the visible LED flashes, suggesting that data is being sent down the wire. However the codes sent to the DCX3200 do not cause it to do anything. I can get SageTV to use the Hauppauge blaster of course, but if the codes it sends are not interpretted by the box then it is of little use. I am beginning to wonder if the Hauppauge system cannot cope with the DCX3200 and if I need to buy a USB-UIRT but first I thought I would see if anyone has the PVR2 directly controlling a DCX3200.

what was the end result of this? 3200 compliant or not - and did you try 1394 channel changing?

I have successfully setup the Motorola DCX3200-M (3rd gen) using a USB-UIRT and original HDPVRs for Shaw in Winnipeg. I did initially have issues setting up the first one as my ir file never properly filled the blast codes for all the channels using the Sage setup. Instead, I created a new file, and continually copy/pasted number entries until I came up with a file that works flawlessly. I am currently controlling three boxes, and have been stable since installing a month ago.

I tried unsuccessfully to use the Hauppauge blaster for testing on my new TV server, however abandoned working it out as I was planning on using the USB-UIRT anyways.

If you need IR code file, let me know and I'll send you what I have.

Edit as needed for proper Zone. Also renamed from .ir to .txt to upload.
