bmt & p2
Somehow BMT was able to pickup options for P2 even though BMT is only installed on my server and not my client (where P2 is installed)..
How is that happening? See attached. |

P2 and P1 are installed together - if you have the Phoenix UI on the server and it is up to date, you've got P2 on there also.

That is my point - I only have P2/P1 on the SageTV software client not on the SageTV server. BMT is installed on the server only not on the client. My server has P1 installed and BMT - but the user experience is set to the default STV in server)
And the setting for Phoenix are local to the Software clients (understand the extenders depend on the Server - but again my server only has default STV loaded) How is that working ? |

So on your server you just have BMT?

On the server I have: P1 2.3.409 (no P2) and BMT
On the sageTV I have: latest P1/P2 BMT on server is showing the P2 menu?! (not sure how...) |

Configuration Options in BMT/Phoenix are deployed in a physical files that are included in Phoenix UI and Phoenix Core. If you once had P2 installed on the server (or a later version of phoenix) and then downgraded, then those files may still be around, and as such would show up in the configuration options.

Attached screen shot of BMT.
Taken from the SageTV client in a browser pointing to the SageTV server (named 'NAS') Server running phoenix core - 2.5.5 Not sure how that happened... I might have accidentally installed the server upgrade for phoenix plugin from the sagetv client... can I update a plugin on the server from the client? (thought that didnt work) I definitely did not do it physically on the server. I guess that makes it easy for me to try out P2 on my extenders now... |

You can most definitely update the server from any client.

Well that explains it and solved the mystery.
On a positive note the new Phoenix-core and P2 UI look excellent. I am usually very calculated by about upgrading but the new releases are very compelling. Great job! |
