HD 300 can't see local network
So this is odd. . . For some reason the option to browse the local network has disappeared.
I was using it as of last week. When I try in standalone mode, I get the invalid directory error, so I don't think it's related to the SageTV service. On my network I have a Windows 7 and a Debian server. Both of which can see each other with no problem. Anyone have any advice? Update: So I just went ahaed and fired up the client on the physical server and the option to browse the local network is there and working. . . It's just missing on the extender. Just to wrap this up, it turned out to be an issue with neither computer stepping up to the plate in the master browser election.
By disabling it on the Windows 7 machine and forcing Linux to assume the responsibility everything went back to normal. Hopefully this will help someone else down the line.
