How to setup Boxsets & Series
I have a few boxsets & series - like Game of Thrones which have multiple episodes. Currently I get a cover pic for each episode in the series which clutters up my screen. I'd like it more like the standard Sage 7 which shows one cover for multiple disks or episodes.
I'd really like to setup Gemstone to show only 1 cover in the flow for each boxset or each season of a series. Then when I select that cover (play, enter, etc) it drills down to show a new flow (or list or something) for each episode. Is there a way to do this like standard sage or a drill down flow so I can reduce screen clutter? Thanks, Bruce |

What view are you looking at? The views are all very customizable. The default TV Shows view, i believe, already groups by show - so I'm not sure why you are seeing this behavior - unless they are not being recognized as TV Shows. Best bet would be to use BMT to check that they have the proper metadata.

My setup is pretty simple. I only use 2 Flows.
Note: When I add new episodes they are files from DVDs not Sage recordings. I use Cover Flow to show new movies. Each new episode shows up as a separate movie. I also have a 360 Flow for categories. What file structure or meta-data should they have to tell Gemstone to put them under one Cover and not as separate ones? Thanks. |

Gemstone "simply" uses the metadata that is available to it to understand that the media item is an episode of a TV series. There are various tools/methods to do that but I believe most Gemstone users are using BMT....and I certainly do.
Try setting up BMT using the guides in the forums and then scan and update the metadata for your TV shows (and Movies). Once this is done then Gemstone will use that metadata within each Flow type and group your TV according to the View selected in the Flow. PS: the file structure does not really matter when you are using metadata....so just use what you have or what makes most sense to you. I use the Sage Flow mostly (but any of the cover art Flows work just as well) and for TV Views, I also turn on the setting under Options/customize to use the Play Options. This lets me press Play on any Series item in the flow and it brings up a dialog listing the Next Episode and other info...I then press play a second time and the next episode is started. k |
