new recordings show twice

I've been running v6 for four years with no issues. I recently rebuilt my server and decided to upgrade to Sage v7. I have everything working for the most part. Currently, the only plugins I installed are timiranda's Commercial Detector, and the web and mobile web plugins.

I have one annoying issue I can't figure out. I'll schedule a recording, it records fine, and comskip runs against it. When I then later browse "all" recordings, that single recording will appear as a folder with two nearly identical recordings in it. The differences are that one of them is flagged as archived and does not have the channel info with it. The other has both. If I view "current" recordings, the recording appears once, as it should. There is only one set of files on the disk (the mpg, and comskip's edl and txt files). If I delete the "archived" recording from the recording list, the other is still listed, but if I try and watch it, there's an error because the mpg was deleted.

Any ideas why newly recorded shows are appearing as a folder containing two recordings?

Sounds like your "Recording' folder is also listed as an 'Import' folder!?

I am almost positive that I had this happen to me once when I moved directories.

I think I had to remove the recording and import folders in SageTV to start with.

The I ended up creating a new recording directory with a different name (with SageTV shut down) - moved the recordings to it and then deleted the old folder.

Restarted SageTV and set the recording folder ONLY to the new directory. Another restart of Sage let it find the recordings and all was well.

Not sure if this will help but it is worth a peek at your settings ...

Thanks! I thought I had sorted out all the settings for the recording directory and media import directories, but I neglected to restart the sageTV service. Once I did that, everything seems to be fine.
