Just so you know. You can change a setting in the config file that will only use FTA channels. So if you have the full lineup in DigiGuide it will only add frq files of channels that are FTA only.

This is the default when you only what SageTV FRQs. When eddy finished his plugin and a sub card works native in SageTV you can set this to FULL

Yeah thanks for this Eddy it was a great help.

Used it alot till 4 months ago as I wrote my own KingOfSat importer to keep things simple (well simpler). And hand to as I wrote my code in Python. Only took 2 hours. Thought it would of taken weeks.

I'm sorry, I thought it was clear that the current version hasn't got the descrambler in-line.

I'm currently having very good results with "Tivusat", the descrambler is working very well, however I cannot publish that version until I've got the channel selection mechanism implemented as java plugin.

Help please...

Hi,

can someone post an example of channel entry inside the ".FRQ" file relative to the DVB-T & DVB-C standard please?

Thanks

Card sharing enabled from the next release

Dear all,

apparently Sky in the UK is cracking down the use of their smartcard outside their Skybox whereby some attempt to write EMM to the card from OSCAM causes the card to become Free To View only. It looks like that card sharing is still somehow working, therefore I took the executive decision to allow card sharing starting from the next release which will be the first V7 standard plugin version.

Thanks
Eddy

Clarification on CPU requirements

I must point out that because the descrambling mechanism is now inline and targetted to the channel you're watching/recording there is no longer the requirement of your CPU being able to descramble a stream of 40Mbits/sec, so for a single tuner operation a maximum of 10Mbits/sec is now required (typical value for an HD channel) and about 3-6Mbits/sec for SD channels.

So when you download the CSATEST.zip to measure your CPU power, please take in consideration the new requirements above.

Thanks
Eddy

Hi,

I'm really keen to try this plugin, I've not installed it previously so yesterday I tried by installing it via the plugin menu. I think I must have got something wrong so I was hoping someone could help me get off the ground:-

For information I'm fairly confident with OSCAM and here's what I've done so far:-

1) Installed the plugin using the plugin menu
2) Set up OSCAM in the CAM folder
3) Started OSCAM
4) Restarted SageTV app

When I try to view an encrypted channel I get the no signal message on SageTV. On the OSCAM web page I have all messages showing its read my card and its ready to go but nothing about any clients.

Normally I would set OSCAM to accept newcamd (or similar) clients should I be doing something like that?

Also do I need to register anything with windows?

Can't wait to give this a go so any help to get me going would be great.

David

PS I'm using Win7 64, SageTV 7 and Anysee E7 DVB-S2 tuners AMD X6 1090, Infinity USB Unlimited SlyUK

The first step is to see whether OSCAM can see you card reader (running in VCP mode) and the smartcard.

The second step to check whether the filter has been installed in the system (check in the SageTV installation directory whether the DVBDCC.log file is present).

The third step is to see whether SageTV has loaded the filter in the graph at SageTV startup by checking the presence of the file DVBDCC-Tuner-00.log in the SageTV installation directory.

The fourth step is to enable the shared EMM only in the oscam.server which I've disabled by default to avoid people getting into trouble because of the recent Sky new crack down mechanism which makes smartcard not working out of their box.

Looking forward to have you up and running

Eddy,

Thanks for the quick response, I may need some help in clarifying how I complete these steps:-

1)
Quote:

Can I check that you are referring to the Infinity USB Unlimited's VCP mode. If so then yes my Infinity USB Unlimited is running in VCP mode with the following settings:-

Phoenix
3.57mhz
5v

OSCAM can see the card reader and it can read the card and show a list of my entitlements.

2)
Quote:
The second step to check whether the filter has been installed in the system (check in the SageTV installation directory whether the DVBDCC.log file is present).
I have a DVBDCC file and when I open it in NotePad is says the following:-

Code:
**********************************************************
* SageTV - DVB Decrypter & Card Client DirectShow Filter *
**********************************************************

25-08-2013 16:51:29.0049 [DllMain] Attach DLL
25-08-2013 16:51:29.0049 [DllRegisterServer] Registered on the system
25-08-2013 16:51:29.0059 [DllMain] Detach DLL via FreeLibrary call
I'm not sure of this is the correct file as it is not called DVBDCC.log nor do I know if it has the correct contents

3)
Quote:

I do not appear to have this file. - What's gone wrong and how can I fix this?

4)

This sounds scary, I used the following card reader settings:-

Code:
[reader]
label                           = SkyUK
enable                         = 1
protocol                       = mouse
device                         = /dev/com3
audisabled 	      = 1
device_out_endpoint    = 0x81
services                      =
caid                            = 0963
fallback	                   = 0
detect                        = cd
mhz                           = 357
cardmhz                     = 357
ident                          =
group                         = 1
emmcache                  = 1,3,2
blockemm-unknown     = 1
blockemm-u                = 1
blockemm-s                = 1
blockemm-g                = 1
ndsversion                  = 2
Let me know what you think and what to do next.

David

3) Is your issue. Please use regedit and find out where "Frey Technologies" is by searching in the registry also check for duplicates. I will expect one entry only. Of course any software that you were using to descramble before must have been completely uninstalled and the MDAPI filter if used, unregistered.

Another thing, this is a completely native solution and as such it will work ONLY with tuners supported natively by SageTV. This is not a network encoder solution.

Please post here the full path where "Frey Technologies" is.

Eddy

Eddy,

Frey technologies is located in the following path:-

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - SOFTWARE - WOW6432Node - Frey Technologies -

Within this folder are the following folders:-

Common

SageTV

The tuners I am using are natively supported and I am not using any network solutions. Previously I have used hardware cams (Diablo WiFi CAMs with OSCAM). I think all I need to do is remove the hardware cams and I should be ready to go.

What do I need to with the regedit "Frey Technologies" entries?

Thanks,

David

This is the problem "WOW6432Node" by mistake the installer does it under "WOW6432". Will be fixed in the next release, sorry I'm still under XP 32.

In attachment the registry entry you need to apply, just download it, expand it and doubleclick on both files, but please follow this procedure:

- Stop OSCAM server
- Stop the sage service
- Runs the registry files
- Start sage service
- The mentioned DVBDCC-Tuner-xx.log files will appear and you're ready to go
- Start OSCAM server

Eddy,

Did that stuff and I now have the DVBDCC-Tuner-xx.log files so definitely one step closer but I'm still getting the no signal sign.

Here is one of the DVBDCC-Tuner-xx.log files contents:-

Also SageTV crashed once but seems OK at the moment.

OSCAM is running fine, showing my entitlement and also showing anonymous client entries (one for each tuner) but no traffic so whilst it looks to be all set up fine nothing is getting through to OSCAM.

Any idea what I could try next.

Note:- I updated the plugin to the latest version 1.0.1.

Thanks,

David

PS with the webserver set to 127.0.0.1 is there anyway to access it over a LAN. My SageTV server runs on a dedicated machine so ideally I would like to access the OSCAM web interface from another machine.

Yes, I know, now is the scary bit, option #4....

Because of the Sky unofficial announcement I've disabled OSCAM accepting EMMs, but now the choice is yours, if you want to proceed what you have to do is to stop OSCAM server, edit the oscam.server file and change the following settings:

Code:
audisabled = 0
blockemm-s = 0
then restart OSCAM server and tune to an encrypted channel.

This is based on some comments in well regarded forums that the message that apparently screws up the smartcard is a global EMM which is still disabled in your oscam.server (blockemm-g=1). However the shared one (-s) are the one necessary in order to descramble. In all my experiments with my Tivusat I never saw a global EMM, but only shared EMM.

This is a very unknown territory, you should be safe, but is your call. I don't want scary you, but I cannot take the decision for you. I know that there is another user whom is trying to use this software via a card sharing service, which is a safer option as the EMM are rejected at the other end so is their responsibility.

On the other hand if the CAM/smartcard you're using were working with your previous setup with OSCAM, I cannot see any reason why they shouldn't with this setup, providing you take the precaution as above, but again is completely up to you.

Eddy,

I stopped OSCAM and changed the server settings to:-

audisabled = 0
blockemm-s = 0

Restarted OSCAM and tried tuning into an encrypted channel but I'm still getting the no signal notice.

OSCAM's web-server does not show any traffic so I think something must still be not working.

This is my server file:-

Quote:
[reader]
label = SkyUK
enable = 1
protocol = mouse
device = /dev/com3
audisabled = 0
device_out_endpoint = 0x81
services =
caid = 0963
fallback = 0
detect = cd
mhz = 357
cardmhz = 357
ident =
group = 1
emmcache = 1,3,2
blockemm-unknown = 1
blockemm-u = 1
blockemm-s = 0
blockemm-g = 1
ndsversion = 2
Any ideas what I could try.

David

I wonder whether your firewall is blocking the connections...I'm not familiar with Win7/8 and I know that the firewall is most the time to blame on those version of Windows. I need few ports open in order to communicate with the filter and with OSCAM. Can you please give OSCAM full privileges?

How many tuners you have installed on the server?

1)

- Stop OSCAM service
- Delete all DVBDCC-Tuner-xx.log
- Start Sage service
- Start Sage UI and wait until the REC symbol disappears
- Stop sage service
- Zip all the DVBDCC-Tuner-xx.log and send it to me

2)
- Stop Sage service
- Stop OSCAM service
- Delete all DVBDCC-Tuner-xx.log
- Start Sage service
- Start OSCAM server
- Start Sage UI and wait until the REC symbol disappears
- Tune to a normal clear channel for few seconds
- Tune to an encrypted channel you know you have the rights for few seconds.
- Stop Sage service
- Stop OSCAM
- Zip all the DVBDCC-Tuner-xx.log and send it to me
