If you've upgraded to 0.5.0 then you can use the grabber app to check for you. Go to SageTV\plugins\sdepg\tools\ and run the following: Code:
java -jar sdjson.jar --grabber-log-level warn audit --scheds --source ..\sdjson.epg

It's a zip file so use your favourite zip viewer.

Those times are GMT. If you're in the eastern time zone then you need to subtract 4 hours from those times. I'm guessing you haven't upgraded yet? Because the auditor in the new version of the grabber will do all of this inspection for you.
But as an example, there are no gaps in the listings you've provided (as long as the first one says it started at 19:30 -- you cut off the timestamp). The second one starts at 20:00 and lasts 30 minutes (duration == 1800 seconds == 30 minutes) then the third one starts at 20:30, which is correct. Then the next one should start at 21:00 and so on.

Doesn't look like it. Either way, you need to upgrade to the latest version and see if it's still an issue. If so, then we'll dig into it.

After this weekend's extended outage I want to investigate an alternative for the native/ built-in SageTV channel guide. The SD plugin looks very promising
Can someone point out if there are any major differences in functionality between the native and the SD plug-in currently? (I know there are some listed in the instructions but not sure if those are true anymore... given that there has been incremental work over the last several months. |

I think the list is accurate but even channel logos are now available in the latest release of the Schedules Direct service. I just need to update the plugin to copy the logo files into the Sage directory.

Schedules Direct Updated: 0.5.0 users must switch back
Earlier today, SD upgraded the production server to the latest API. Early 0.5.0 adopters must now reconfigure the sdepg plugin to point it at the production server asap as the beta server will soon move to the next development api version and the plugin will no longer be able to talk to it.
Configure the plugin and ensure the settings are as follows: URL: https://data2.schedulesdirect.org Max Schedule Size: 1000 Max Program Size: 50000

I;m looking to upgrade to the 0.0.5.0 plugin since production is upgraded.
So I need to uninstall 0.0.4.2, or just upgrade and reconfigure the headends. Am I right that to configure the headends is dine through the web interface now? Thanks for the hard work.

Yes, just upgrade the plugin via the Sage plugin manager. Once Sage is restarted, load the web UI and configure your headends there. Once you reregister your headends, that should be it. There will be no need to reconfig video sources, etc. Just need to add the headends back into your SD JSON account.

It is the ISO country code you want to search in and must be a country supported by the SD service. Today, that means it must be one of:
US = United States of America CA = Canada ZZ = FTA satellite lineups

First off, I really like this plugin and the direct from SD concept. Thanks so much for this and for the tremendous support you provide, Slugger. Oddly, though, I seem to have regular issues. All easily explained and I'm always up and running quickly between Slugger and Rob's helpful assistance. But again I've got a dwindling EPG...
I'm running 0.0.5.0 of the plugin and have checked that the JSON url is accurate. When I tried loading the SD Direct EPG status in the SageTV web frontend, it threw an error - sorry, didn't copy it down - but it was basically a log file page. So I stopped SageTV, deleted the sdepg log file and schedule file and restarted Sage. I then when to a Sage client and to the plugin's config and tried to run an update (I've read that it's now fixed). Nothing happens and I get the following in the log file: 2013-10-22 18:48:36,256 WARN [Plugin]: Unable to force EPG refresh! Geez, it seems I can break anything simply by ignoring it completely... Going to need to see the error when you try to load the status page in the web ui. Did you register your headends after upgrading? That was mentioned in the original post about 0.5.0.
The unable to refresh EPG warning seems to suggest you have no lineups configured in Sage on any of your tuners. But first things first, you need to be able to access the SD api from within Sage so those status pages have to work before anything else.

Thanks Rob!
Well, now that I cleared the log file and restarted SageTV, I'm not getting the error loading the UI. But now that I can load the UI, I can see the headend is indeed missing. Weird. Maybe it's me. I'll update if anything else goes wrong... so, talk to you in a few days... LOL. Thanks guys, as always. RLW |

Headends were deleted on all accounts as part of this api update on the SD end, that's why they disappeared. Just register them again with SD then force an EPG update and you should be good to go.
