Stop windows screensaver from turning on

Windows screensaver turns on while I'm watching tv. Is there a way to deactivate it while watching tv.

no you have to disable it
if you leave sage on the main menu when finished using it
It does have its own screensaver and and you can set it up to open the screen saver if you put sage to sleep as well

I think this is a bug though cause not all versions acted this way where you have to disable the screensaver

the guys with studio could probably correct this

The SageTVsupport Configuration page has a link to the SageTV Configuration Properties document, whic contains this property description:
Quote:
ui/disable_screen_saver_and_pm - true/false, will turn off system screen saver and power management when SageTV is in use if true
Exit SageTV completely before changing any properties. There seems to be some problems with this on some systems where the power management settings don't work correctly when SageTV is put to sleep -- it works on my client, but not on my server. The screen saver control works on both for me.

That setting works on your server for disabling/re-enbling both the screen saver & monitor power management?

Since it works on one of my systems & not the other, I'm beginning to wonder whether there are simply system differences that make the code to disable/re-enable the pm settings not work correctly only on certain systems. I mean, the client & server must be using the same code base, so I don't see why the client would work with this setting & the server wouldn't unless the system had some sort of difference that breaks the code.

That works on 3 of my systems. Both HTPC's, and my PC. I actually have the opposite problem at times. Sometimes when Sage is in the try sleeping, the screen saver and PM never comes on.

Actually, we may be talking about the same problem -- everything functions as expected while SageTV is awake; it is when you put it to sleep when the pm doesn't get properly re-enabled on my server. Is that what you mean?

Yes. I can reproduce that on one machine (the one that auto-starts Sage). All others that don't autostart work completely.
