Previously Watched Shows Not Recorded

I am recording Wings every night (2 shows back-to-back) and I noticed that every so often Sage TV does not record one of them. Does Sage remember if I recorded and watched a show in the past and therefore not record it again even if I deleted such show from the PC?

To discredit such theory I noticed the same episode of Monk was recorded twice since it aired twice on USA Network the other night.

I do not have any other show recording around that time so I can't find a reason for it not to record both Wings shows all the time. I do have the Favorite settings set to record ALL SHOWS with no padding.

Any clue guys?

Valerio

Yes, this is how SageTV works

I think if you look at the Show ID in the detailed information you will see one of the shows uses the proper EPxxxx type number, the other show uses just the series type ID of SHxxxxxx. This prevents SageTV from being able to tell that it is the same episode.

yeah if you have already seen an episode and watched it, it will not be recorded again

also the episodes of monk probably had different identification codes so it recorded both (an error with the guide data provider)
if you want sage to always record every show whether watched or not then you need to clear the watched on the show before you delete it

also I have no idea way sage will not record back to backs correctly

I also hate this

sage I guess figures it can get it another time

but many times I have shows back to back of the same show and sage will only record one

the simpsons are on 3 times a day and yet sage will only record one or maybe two
I have never seen it try to get all three

worlds strongest man competition
airs in two back to back shows

yet sage would always record only one everytime

I have asked the guys with studio to add record both shows when back to back or record all airings but got no reply

valerio: check the FAQs thread, link below. I have a series of Q&A on show recordings, show IDs, etc.

kny3twalker: Maybe that is something wrong with the core instead of the UI that Studio handles?

I don't think I have ever seen Sage not record a show I thought it should regardless if it was back to back (unless I had padding and it would throw a conflict).

What is this value set for you in your properties file?

I think the worlds strongest man does not have individual IDs
so I would just get one here there
it may have individual IDs but they may have been an ID per year of the event not for each episode of the event from the last time I set it up as a favorite, it seemed this was the behavior

Also I do not have that property, am I supposed to add it

look for yourself, I am blind to some things

also the simpsons may have scheduled for later so many, it is hard to keep up with them all

Try adding it and see what you get. Narflex added it from a complaint I had in 1.4 where in a multi-tuner system shows that could be recorded ASAP were not. Last I heard it still works in Sage 2.

oh mines not multituner yet
I was going to put the second card in last night but fell asleep early to go to work this morning (it was optional)

I going to do it tonight after some recording finish
I will try that but would like to see how it does right off the bat

those are both old issues and the worlds strongest man is not being aired now on ESPN, it will be awhile before they are on again
