SageTVTranscoder source code?

SageTVTranscoder.exe is a modified build of ffmpeg. Unfortunately a fairly old one. I've tried substituting in a more recent ffmpeg exe but thumbnail generation fails with some unrecognised options. I suspect Sage have customised the exe to support these additional options (and possibly others):

-minpixenergy min pixel energy for thumb
-minpixvar min pixel variance for thumb
-minpixnumframes max num frames to check for min pix req.
-priority priority set process priority (Win32)

I cant seem to turn up any references to them in relation to ffmpeg, so assume they are not just deprecated options.

Since there will be no more Sage updates, it's a bit of a shame we can't keep the transcoding engine up-to-date - I was thinking, since it's based on ffmpeg which is open source - wouldn't sage have to make the source code available - I know the specifics depend on the exact license but from this page it sounds like they might http://ffmpeg.org/legal.html

Yes they made it available and you could ask them for the source - never did personally however. You might try that now with a support request. You might ask if it could be posted on the forums as well.

I'm pretty sure that anyone that has asked for the source has been given a link to it.

I believe the support request page still works. I've certainly submitted a few requests via it since the Google changeover.
