I didn't realize how much I use this feature, but having to run to my computer to look things up on IMDB is getting to be a chore.

One other wish I've always had with this feature would be the ability to scroll through the images for an actor. Sometimes the default image is horrible, things that look like they were taken by an old cell phone from someone in the crowd, or just a bad image of the actor/actress.

I just installed CMT the other day. (been using SageTV a few years) Another nice plug-in. But this thread describes the problem I'm having perfectly.

I've updated the plugin so that at least the Person lookup works and doesn't crash out with an exception.

I don't have the filmographies working yet though, it's proving to be a rather slow process.

Thanks John. I eagerly await the full fix.

I have to admit I started to get all giddy when I saw this update pop up. Then a bit less giddy when I saw that the actor section still isn't fixed. But at least it gave me hope.

Are there any hopes to getting this working again? For this user at least, not having full function is frustrating. While having the person lookup working is nice, sometimes I feel it is taunting me by not allowing me to see any more information.

Wayne, what specifically isn't working for you?

The last time there was an issue affecting everyone, it was fixed shortly afterwards by John (a few months ago).

My family and I continue to use IMDB lookups via sageTV on an almost daily basis (especially for all the new TV shows).

You can no longer click on the Actor and see what other shows they performed in. You just get a Bio.

I always select "IMDB lookup" before pushing Play on a new TV show or movie. It seems like all actor info and other menu options works just fine.

How do I reproduce this issue?

Yeah, this is the issue. You use to get a list of their other films and TV shows, but the filmography is missing. And it's not just actors, it goes for crew as well.

It does not work fine before when you selected an Actor it gave you a list of the TVShows and movies they appeared on. You then were able to click on movie or TV show and get all the info on that Movie or Tv Show.

I do know what the problem is, it's just that the filmographies are now in a completely different format and I was struggling with it so took a break.

Just this week I've had a fresh look at it and I've been able to fix up a few things that haven't worked in a long time, but the filmographies are still proving elusive.

Don't give up hope, but I also wouldn't be holding my breath.

The TV filmographies are still a work in progess, but I thought having something was better than nothing.

Thanks John! It didn't occur to me what was missing until now. The information you exposed is extremely useful!! I can see myself using this regularly (just as it is).

BTW: Is there anything I can (or you can) do to make the text on the left column more readable? If it's something under my control, could you please tell me the easiest place to make a permanent fix (I'm using Gemstone as my STV).

What they said. I used the filmographies all the time to see what other movies/TV Shows an actor/actress had been in. The old "where do I remember him/her from?" rattling around in my age addled brain.

I've installed the update, but it requires a restart and I don't have a break in recordings until 1am or so. So I'll have to wait to see how well the update is working. As JREwiki said " something was better than nothing".

I saw and installed the update, but don't have a break in recordings until the overnight, so I can't do the required restart of SageTv until then.

I eagerly await seeing filmogrophy back in the IMDB info!!

There's nothing you can do without jumping into studio to change fonts. It is a little problematic as there are only a few options for trying to fit "Transportation department: TV" into the same size field as "Self:TV". We can either have font scaling or wrapping text. I'll have a try with changing the base font size and see how that looks.

The update you gave us is great, but I can see there are still issues, most notably with TV. I've looked up several people and nowhere near all their TV work shows up.
In many cases the TV show/movie that is noted when you look up the actor doesn't show up.

I'm sure you already knew this, hence your "work in progress" part of your message. Just thought I'd chime in.

Movies an actor has been in seem to be much more thorough and possibly even show the complete list. I haven't compared it to an online IMDB listing to verify.
