Is it possible to retrieve lost sage key?

My server crashed and I lost by Sage key. I have the V7 upgrade but I need the prior key for the install. In the past Sage would use are email or something and provide the key. Is this still possible?

Thanks

I'm guessing they will still resend your key if you email them your info about the initial order.

I went to the support page in the forums. If I don't hear anything by Monday I'll try one more time before giving up.

i found mine by searching through my emails from years past - I had a snail mail copy, but couldn't find it. For some reason, Sage had emailed my password to me

They do answer - takes a couple of days (took me about 4) - I had to get hold of my keys as well.

Cheers

Also emailed directly and still haven't heard from them. Maybe they have closed up shop.

What I've heard from support is that, as usual, people who have sent in requests need to check their spam folders/filters because there have been responses sent out regarding keys.

Well I heard from support. It seems they looked up the email I provided and found out that that e-mail not tried to an account. I 've sent them all my old e-mail accounts so they should be able to look it up from that. Hope I here from them soon.

Is your license key stored anywhere in sage.properties or somewhere else on the system.

I have a similar issue - I have two license keys and I am rebuilding one of the systems. But I'm not sure which license key is tied to which PC - is there any way to figure out other than trial and error?

And if I use the latest Sage version (the one that let everyone upgrade to V7) do I need to enter my Sage V6 license and then the upgrade key? Or just the original V6 key? Or just the upgrade key?

You should be able to just use your v6 key, but you have to make sure you use the modified .EXE files. It might be easier to just use the non-modified files from the main 7.1.9 download, and just enter the v6 key, restart it, and enter the v7 upgrade key.

And no, the key is not available anywhere on the system. once entered, it's hashed, and is not retrievable. trial and error is going to be what it required. That said, there are no checks on the network to prevent two copies of sage running on the network with the same key, so even if you get it wrong, I don't think you'll be able to notice - unless you run one of them in client more connecting the the other client, in which case, if they have the same key, they will be rejected.
