Send an email to support@sagetv.com, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a response due to the Google acquisition. It may be some time before you hear back from them (or maybe not, hard to say).

No, the locator ID is completely different from the license code.

I did some testing last night on installing SageTV clients and servers on temporary virtual machines to verify that my backed up license keys would work with the versions of Sage I have downloaded. Everything worked great and the serials were accepted (but I had my internet adapter turned off so take this with a grain of salt). I get the impression that Sage does not use an activation server (which is great for us with re-installs as we may not have a support system to contact in the future).

I have two v6 licenses one that is too old to qualify for the free upgrade to a v7 license the other is not.
I cannot find the email with the license information for the newer one and was about to install v7 over a new cloned ssd (the old one with v6 in safe storage) when these news hit. I have emailed support to see if they will send me the info on the new license but I am not holding my breath. Of course, the network encoder will forever be v6. I am guessing that having the main sever at v7 (assuming that I can get that sorted out) and a network encoder at v6 will not be an issue. Anyone knows for sure?

I think they all need to be at the same version to work together. Just like a v6 client won't talk to a v7 server.
