I just ordered that one too. I have been unable to get 1080i video working without stuttering, even with the Arcsoft decoder, so I'm hoping this helps.

I got it to work with the TMT5 decoder for 1080i content. Anything else was almost unwatchable.

I have been using windows 8 with EVR and TMT 5 decoders without any problems that I have noticed. The biggest problem I've noticed with it was the Hulu and the Amazon Prime skipping or studdering on pans. I'm not a big fan of Windows 8 but it does seem to run well on the Nt-A3500 Foxconn. If you have spare drive I would try windows 8 for the $40.00 cost I thought it was a good deal.

Flash is going to be the issue with hulu and amazon. 10.3 is the only version that works correctly.

I can't seem to find any reviews...how do you think the Foxconn AT-5570 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16856119080) compares to the Foxconn nt-A3700-0H0WBANA ?

Is the higher price justified?

Thanks!

Looks to be the same thing, but the newer version. I'd guess that the GPU is better since it is newer and possibly more powerful. Whether or not it is worth the extra money depends on you.

I just started playing w/ the TMT codecs (on a regular desktop computer) and I noticed that even though the recordings were supposively 720p, I was still getting interlaced video.

I can force deinterlacing on (by right clicking on the FFDShow audio icon, and choosing the Arcsoft codec, then pressing "Force"), but it doesn't save the settings.

Are there any docs on how to make the codec have deinterlacing forced on?

Thanks!

Deinterlacing should be handled by the video card. You shouldn't have to tell the codec anything.

I agree!

I've got a AMD Radeon HD 6570, running catalyst 13.1...For deinterlacing I have it set to vector adaptive and pulldown detection selected.

A lot of times while watching, I'll notice "lines" especially when doors are closing or when a scene changes quickly..especially around the edges of things.

I know that when I use FFDShow and make it do the deinterlacing, the problem goes away (but it isn't using the hardware)

When I use the TMT codec, and FORCE it for deinterlacing the problem goes away as well.

Maybe I wrongly assumed that it was due to deinterlacing and it's something else?

I thought maybe may be that the hdhomerun prime was saying it was 720p when it was really 720i(?) so by forcing deinterlacing on, I corrected for it..

Am I way off base?

I don't know, I don't have that problem and I've got a similar video card. Very odd.

Trust me, your videos aren't 720i. most likely, you are seeing a poor conversion of SD video to be broadcast on a 720p channel, where it wasn't deinterlaced properly on the upconversion end. So, those lines remain present. the deinterlacing filters are 'smoothing' them out, but it isn't really proper - and not something that will work automatically.

Thanks!

I finally got around to installing the disk image on a nice new 3700 and I just wanted to say THANKS!

This had to be the easiest install EVER! (Maybe I just do things the hard way all the time).

I did have one question though--even though I disabled the computer powering down (via the power options in windows) it still turns itself off.

Ive checked the don't notice any unusual shutdowns--so I'm trying to figure out how to make it stay on all the time....any ideas?

Honestly haven't had that problem. I configured the same power options and mine stays on all the time.

EDIT: Forgot to say you're welcome. Glad I could help.

Go figure!

I wound up just making sure my usb and ethernet ports didn't power down (when the computer hibernated).

When I need the computer on, I just wiggle the mouse or keyboard and the machine pops back to life...Takes a little bit longer, but it works (and saves a penny or two)
