Performance tweaks for video playback startup
I recently rebuilt my Win7 64bit PC which host sageTV server; as well as my primary sageTV client.
Im curious if I've missed any performance tuning settings which would help reduce lag when starting videos as much as possible (considering I already have abundant RAM and use an SSD). Currently, the maximum time it takes to start a video is only 1-2 seconds. I only know of three settings which people have suggested on the forums to help performance in general: 3. Javaheapsize=1024 4. NumBuffers=0x00000100 5. BufferSize=0x00020000 I've also increased min_bandwidth_for_no_transcode=19500000 since all my clients have >20mbps sustained data rate; including placeshifter. OS Prefetch/superfetch are at their defaults to optimize boot and application startup. Anything else I can try?
