Please help - HD PVR suddenly gone from Sage
At some point in the past week or 2 the HD PVR disappeared from Sage. It's completely gone from the sources and I can't find it when I go in to add it back. I opened up the IR blaster and it works just fine. I opened up the Arcsoft Extreme and recorded an HD channel from the stb so I know the HD PVR physically works. Any ideas/suggestions on how to troubleshoot and get it working again? Thanks!

You could try one of these steps:

See if it shows up in windows device manager. I've seen it not show when it locks up at which point I pull the power on the HD-PVR and reconnect it then turn the power button back on and it will show up again in Windows.
Restart your sagetv service and all is well again. |

This happened to me before too ... One was a faulty power supply for the HD-PVR ... Even though the 'lights' were on and it looked fine ... It dropped from Device Manager as well.
If all else fails ... Try another power supply ... Dwight

I have two HD-PVRs and both had their power supplies die - things seemed fine until it started to record and then it would behave strangely.

ok, progress, but still more to do to get this fixed. The HD PVR shows up in windows device manager and as I said, I know it works because I can use the IR blaster, change the channel and then use the arcsoft software to record something.
So I tried what BobPhoenix suggested. Made a backup of the properties file, deleted it and started over. Started setup and I could see the HD PVR again! Don't have time to redo all of setup though so I bagged it and copied the properties file back. And the HD PVR is still there! Bizarre. But now of course I'm missing a ton of guide data, but it seems to be coming back in slowly. Will report back if all is working in a few days but thanks for the suggestions to get this working!

Note that some people are having over heating problems too. I had to add a fan to mine, which resolved all my issues.
