I'll second the WD TV LIVE units.. They play everything I have, without issue. But - the GUI interface isn't great, and it is no SAGE Extender. Works great for file level browsing - but unless you allow it to be a "media manager" and write all kinds of little control files into your directories, it does not seperate Music from Pictures from Videos, even though it has the specific menus for each type. So, I just always use the Files tab, which throws everything at you as you would expect.

I am amazed that when you go into the Music section of devices like this, they present you with the Thumbnails of album covers as "playable media". It is it REALLY that hard to code a filter based off a menu selection! :-)

Mine does not play my recordings from one local channel (which SageTV, and every PC player play fine). I think it is because this station puts out multiple audio tracks -- 4 (!) tracks, and that confuses the firmware.

Since the WDTV Live Plus is almost exactly the same hardware as the HD300, I had hoped to be able to run the HD300 f/w. I've tried using the WDTV extfs USB boot to boot into the SageTV f/w, but no luck so far. I just ordred a USB-TTL cable so I can connect to the console & see what is happening.
