I moved to SageTV because of ROKU. I owned a ROKU HD1000 a couple of years. Because of heat problems I watch mine slowly destory itself. Like so many others, I modified mine after the power supply went out, then it just stopped working all together. ROKU did not care enough to do a recall. They would fix them for you at about a $100, but they would go out again.
I bought the ROKU because it was a stand along setup (No software running on a PC). After owning a SageTC HD100 and a HD200 I will never go back or move to anything else.
SageTV and to all its supports,

And more importantly their support after sale. The HD1000 (I own one too) was a fantastic piece of hardware years ahead of anything else out there but lack of support by Roku to users and more importantly 3rd party tools for creating applications was virtually non existent.

The *new* Roku player sounds very good, but I predict that like all their other products to date all company development and support will come to a screeching halt once they come out with their next new toy. That has been their history so far. Sad but true.
