added new drive, moved 180 files, 50 not showing up in SageTV Recordings any more...

So one of my drives is going bad (bad blocks). I added a new drive to the system, mapped a folder on it as a new recording directory, turned off sagetv, moved 180 files, and then turned sage back on.

130 of the files that I moved are still showing up in the SageTV Recording section. 50 of the files are showing up in the Videos folder (listed under the recording directory) as imported Videos.

I know that means something is wrong with wiz.bin. I tried the advanced recovery option and the repair mismatched option, neither of them worked.

What the heck happened? Why did some of them move successfully while others got screwed up?

What options do I have to get these added back in to the SageTV Recordings directory? I'm using Version 6.6. All of the files still have the EPG number listed in the file name.

Man, Norton Ghost to the rescue again...

I used my backup browser and I found a wiz.bin from 12/15. Stopped SageTV, copied it over to the folder, set advanced video file recover to true in sage.properties, restarted Sage, all files recovered...

What would I do without Norton Ghost?

Interesting enough, all shows recorded AFTER 12/15 were still all listed in my SageTV Recordings list with show descriptions as well.

From my understanding the best way to move files is to move them to a place sage does not know about so they get properly removed. Let sage discover this by doing a scan or restarting. Then move the files to the new location sage knows about. Again, rescan. This should always work.

Too late for you this time but...
