HD200 No Video Playback

Every once in a while the HD200 will display all of the menus correctly. Show all of the recorded shows and allow the full menu functionality.

Then when a previously recorded show is chosen to play, I get a moving timeline but no video is being played back.

Any suggestions/ideas as to what is causing this?

When I power cycle the HD200 all becomes well again.

I had a similar problem with an HD300 being used as a PlaceShifting box and the only way to correct the problem was to power cycle the box.

Thanks in advance...

Randy

No help Randy but I get the same issue with my HD300. I never got this issue until a couple of months ago when I purchased a new TV.

It's very annoying to have to keep power cycling it all the time!

I am suddenly having the "no playback" problem with ALL recordings, old and new, but only on my extender. My setup has not changed. It has worked fine since I bought it and still plays back fine on the PC. On the extender, I can fast-forward and when I stop doing so, I can see the frame it got to, the time-indicator keeps moving on, but the frame does not change. Another FF does the same. Recycling power and unplugging the ethernet connection has no effect. There is nothing in the logs. I have re-started the server and re-powered my PC. Does anyone have any more tips? Could recent Win7 updates be the culprit? There were some 2 days ago, after which the problem started.

FIXED: unplugged EVERYTHING from the HD200. Let it sit for a minuet. Plugged in ONLY th epower. Let iot sit again for 2 minutes. Thenm plugged back the HDMI & Ethernet. SUCCESS. Thanks to userid WILL.

Thumbs up Worked for my HD200

FIXED: A great big THANK YOU to the group here for solving this problem for me. The Power-down-and-unplug trick did it for my HD200. The strangest thing was that this came right after I (VERY PAINFULLY) converted my server from XP to Windows7, so I could use SageDCT (and ffmpeg) with my new HDHomerun Prime units. It was a very rocky conversion, but managed to bring all recordings and recording favorites over intact. After the conversion my HD200 in the bedroom worked fine. The one in the living room had exactly the above symptoms. (Looked good until starting playback..then just a blank screen. Could even see status bar and get fast forward to show still frames, but no real playback or audio.)

Thanks to all here who continue to share such vital information. Without this forum I'd be at the mercy of COMCAST!
