Transparency level on overlay

In areas such as video imports and all TV shows is there a way to change the transparency of the left hand item menu (it seems to have a fade to black effect), and the right hand information box? To make them more transparent to better see the fanart? Also, if there is, is there a way to adjust it for specific menus (all tv shows, imports, etc.) or is it global?

I hate asking so many questions, and not having luck searching the forums. Is there another guide I'm missing? I totally missed the mini-guide feature. I just stumbled on it reading various posts. I hate being a pest.

I only know the answer to one of your questions.... there isn't a guide for Phoenix. It would be nice if we had one... but it hasn't happened yet
