HD-200 Crashing since upgrade
Hey guys,
Wondering if anyone has had this problem. a couple days ago I upgraded to version 7.1.9.256 from 7.1.7 and at the same time I upgraded the STV from 201106xx to 2011081001. I also updated BMT and Phoenix to the latest version. Maybe I shouldn't have upgraded all because I don't know which is causing this new problem. Before these upgrades everything was working great except for You Tube. I was getting the unable to download file or something. Now that works and I have this problem. About every 3rd channel change or watching recorded show, the extender just freezes. The screen goes black and the only thing I can do is pull the power on the extender to get it to work. Anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks!!!

If you are using Phoenix and have auto comskip enabled that could be the problem. It's a known bug in v 408 of Phoenix.

Bob- You were right. I checked my firmware version and I don't know where I got the one I had. I am using 20100909 0. Sorry about that.
Bialio - I am using both. So my options are to not use them together I assume? If that's the case, I'm going to have a tough decision to make ![]()

You don't have to stop using phoenix or comskip - you just have to stop using AUTOMATIC comskip (where it skips commercials without you having to do anything) until the next phoenix release is out.

thanks bialio for the help, but what's the point in using compskip if it doesn't automatically skip commercials for you

I don't currently use phoenix but I have the autoskip turned OFF in the Default STV plugin. Reason: Comskip is not accurate enough. If you want to backup a little to catch what you missed it skips again anyway sometimes even though it isn't suppose to. So for me I turn autoskip off and when I see a commercial playing I just press the right arrow to MANUALLY skip to the end of the commercial block. Plus then I can use the commercial to get up and get something like I use to before we had comskip.

Bob - That makes sense. You're right it isn't completely accurate. I kind of hate when it cuts out to early. So I know what you mean.
As for as the originally problem, I updated Phoenix and so far so good ![]()

Funny you mention that...
All of a sudden I am noticing my HD-200 crashing on Blu-Ray rips. My son and I had to cold-boot the HD-200 3 times today. NEVER had to do that before. Only cure is to unplug the adapter. Soft power cycle does not do the trick. I have not noticed any issues with ATSC or HD-PVR recordings. Phoenix issues here as well. I don't use Comskip.

Well this is sad. I love Phoenix, but I think it's gonna have to go. After every channel change and changing from one recording to another I have to do a hard reset on the HD200. Everything was working great till the most resent upgrade I did in the earlier posts.

turn off automatic comskip until we get it worked out. You can still use comskip, you just have to hit the right / left arrows on your remote to skip.
