Bug Report (All for SR_Menu):

The top option "Recordings" does not link to Record Library, it does nothing.
The second option "Recording Schedule" and "Conflict Information" work fine, but if you press "left" it goes back to the old Scheduled Recordings menu.
Can I have an option to have "archived" recordings in this menu as well?

The alternative would be to put the regular "Setup" that is on the main menu within Scheduled Recordings then relabeling it
"Schedule & Setup". Then there would be room for the weather option on the main menu.

Also would be nice if I could have a "small" little icon on the main menu near the date that indicated todays forecast such as a cloud, sun, etc.

Everything else is solid,

I just want to say great program no issues here yet. and I have one question.

I figured out how to to get the media library to pick up extermal files and such off of a CD however the problem im running into is having that program pick up the selected file.

For example I have it set to Zoomplayer. what happens now is that when I click on the selected file Zoomplayer opens but thats it. is there no way to pass the file extention over to Zoom or is this a function that I have to wait for Studio for?

Thanks.

SR_Menu is experimental and is still half done.

Pop-up channel box is not planned for anything other than LiveTV guide and perhaps Mini-Guide at a later date.

external_dvd_player_params= This only accepts one parameter for now. Net version will allow multiple.

I can't believe you guys killed weatherroom.com . Oh well, I remember in the myHTPC days their weather source was always up and down. That is why I wrote the weather extractor externally - so one of you can import from somewhere else. I am hoping that someone with absolutely no ties with Frey could squeak by and use data from some "other" source .

I am busy most of the week, but keep the postings coming and I will get to the fixes when I can.

Thanks guys!

Update on the property " mlbdude/auto_close_at_eof=true"

If I shut down sage, and set the property to true, then start Sage, shut it down again, and set it back to false again, then start Sage, the problem goes away.

Also, I reenabled the Sleep menu item, and hope that is not related.

Not sure if this helps find the issue. At least it gives me back EOF stability.

Main menu items won't affect that problem. The auto close property should also not be affected by restarting Sage. I would suspect that something else with that is going on.

Does the getweather.exe produce a file with the data,
could you give an example?

The weather module in gb-pvr is nice.

Maybe we could use the source it uses...

OK, more info, cause I have had more time to play. If I watch a show and the OSD is not currently showing. the show will go back to the main menu. If I hit info and the OSD is up the time marker stops updating at XX:XX:54 every time. It also seems that the lockup is related to the OSD being up. I will test further after I get home from work.

delete problems

I am having some problems when deleting the currently playing file, when sending the Delete command (DEL key, or sendmessage) in full screen mode.
The confirmation box has no background, and locks up the UI when I select YES.

I have also some minor irritations... in the main menu, in the mini-upcomming recordings, it would be nice to see the type of recording (IR/manual/favourite), and the program flags (watched/don't like) in a similar way to the full recoding schedule..
It would also be nice if the 'Watched' and 'Don't like' SageCommands operated on the mini-upcomming rec's list...

simplify things

Although I am impressed with mlbdude's work, I often wonder just what the point is behind some of it (other than to show what the future release of Studio may allow).

For example, the "mini-guide" is a kewl feature, but who actually ever goes back to the Main Menu once they start watching something else?

Overall, I think that even the "stock" menu system that comes with SageTV could use some simplification.

There should be more direct ways to get to things simply thru the options pop-up function (although they all probibly should still show up thru the Main Menu also).

SageTV has so many features that it may be hard to narrow things down, but there are only a few major things people need to get to quickly and I would think putting those in the Options with only one link to somewhere else that has all the other lesser used items (Main menu maybe) may be a better way of doing things.

It could take me weeks of use just to think of how I'd like even the original to be altered, even longer to try and figure out just what I'd like altered in mlbdude's constantly changing layouts.

Guess what I'm trying to say is that although it's nice to show off all the capabilities of SageTV it would also be nice if someone could show off how much it can be simplified also.

Great work mlbdude! Just wonder though if you could swing the other way also? Sometimes less is better than more (Linux pun)

I noticed since 1.8.6, the music player info popup shows the album art twice. Has anyone else incountered this? I haven't had a chance to try the new update (no internet until tomorrow) to see if this was fixed.

Looks like Weatherroom.com is back up so default weather setups should work again.

I will look at the music player too.

hi mlbdude,

is it possible to add a feature allow queuing of all music under a sub-folder in your music player? I'd like to organize my music folders in genre-artist-album-track order, and then queue one or more of any of these for playback.

On a related note, I would really like to be able to randomize the current playlist queue.

For example, I could queue the entire "jazz" genre, plus all music by "willie nelson", and randomize all of it for playback... Or, I could just select an album, artist, genre, or track for linear, same-order playback.

This would bring the music player much, much closer to the functionality permitted in many other players, such as the iPod or myHTPC's music module...

Thanks so much for all of your work... The weather module looks great! (weatherroom.com problems aside)...

dan.

That property came back and is set to false
but I am still having trouble with your Weather module
I can not get it to load in Sage
if I manually run the getweatherjava.exe
I get weather for Phoenix Arizona and then it will appear in Sage but for Phoenix
I live in Coppell, Texas

Is there something wrong with your weather module?

I would post post this in his thread so he sees it. The first parameter of the EXE is the full url to Weatherroom that is passed to it from Sage. What you are seeing is the default he is using.

I saw this too. I had both the folder.img files and the MP3 tags (with the embedded image). I got rid of the folder.img files and now just use the MP3 tagged Images...

I added the folder.img support for the folder based media player. I will make sure the folder.img only gets displayed IF that player is enabled.

This works for me with Windows Media Player but I can't test with Zoom. Make sure you have no parameters entered in the properties file.

Mlbdude,

Ok, did some more testing on the 350 freezes for EOF. Tell me if this sounds crazy. It appears to happen still if I use Rew or FF a number of times while watching a show. If I use only Timescroll, it doesn't seem to lock up.....
Hope that info helps narrow it down

Update: it seems to happen on long shows, and with ramdomness, but still better than before these changes.

These lockups are not real lockups, it's a lockup where the interface doesn't respond for about thirty seconds to a key press. Weird.

mlbdude,

Thanks a million for all your work.

I have a couple of requests:

1. Have an option for Upcoming Recordings that simply shows everything that will be recorded, one after the other. Currently it seems that it is only shown in time order so there can be a lot of space and a lot of scrolling to see everything that will be recorded.

2. Allow custom folder icon pictures for Video Library & Picture Library. This way I can have all 10,000 episodes of Barney the Dinosaur in one place and -- oh, PLEASE -- have a picture showing it's Barney :-)

3. Allow me to set a favorite that isn't yet in the database. Now, it seems that if I want to record every show with the word "mlbdude" in any of the searchable fields I can only create the favorite if the search returned a result that has been loaded into the guide. If it's not there I can't create a favorite.

Hope those make sense (it's late)

Thanks,

Stacy
