Please help with DVBS satellite setup

Hello,

I am trying to use my satellite card with SageTV. The card is a TechnoTrend 3200.

SageTV detects the card just fine. I modified my PredefinedDVBS.frq file to add the transponder I am interested in:

Code:
"Galaxy19 (97.0)"
	frq:11867000 rate:22000 fec_rate_in:3 pol:2
	{AUTO}
As definedhere: http://www.lyngsat.com/galaxy19.html

I then add this source and scan for channels - it finds 18 channels. However when I check the channels - they are all from a different transponder. They are from the 12022 Mhz one - "San Fransisco International Gateway".

Why?

How do I get the channels I want?

Furthermore, I tried adding more transponder info to the file (excluding the one for the channels it found) and they seem to have no effect. It still only scans the same 18 channels...

What type of LNB are you using?

The only thing I can think of is that your LOF offset is defined wrongly and as such the tuner ends up scanning the wrong frequency.

I'm not sure what type it is It was installed by the company that provides the service for some channels on this transponder which will be fully encrypted soon and I'd access with their smart card.

But as for the LOF settings in SageTV? I didnt put anything in there because I have no idea what to put. Is that the problem? How would I find out what to put in there?

[Edit] I just reconnected their satellite receiver and found a place that specifies LOB Type: 10750.

So the question is how do I translate that type to the 5 values SageTV asks for in the DVBS PRovider setup? LOF #1, LOF #2, LOF SW, etc...

[Edit #2] I tried setting the LOF #1 as 10750 and then scan channels - no tunable channels found. Then I tried LOF1, LOF2 and LOFSW as 10750 and still no tunable channels. Even worse the 18 wrong channels

Seems like since i started messing with the LOF settings I dont get any tunable channels.

I did confirm my "LOB Type" on the original receive is 10750

It is a Ku-band satellite dish

The LOF will be marked on the LNB on the front of the dish. There are two common types used, a single frequency LNB, and a "Universal" LNB.
The most common are 10100 only, 10750 only, and 9750/10600 universal, which is switched using the 22KHz signal.

Since yours was scanning 155 MHz to high, which is about the difference between the high 10600 of a Universal, and the 10750 of a standard, you probably have the settings set wrong for the LNB you are using.

Try LOF1 of 9750 and LOF2 of 10600. Ive not used a Universal on sage, so I dont know what the LOF SW should be set to, but I would try values of 10600, 10700, and 10750 for that, or even leave it blank.

Perhaps someone from Europe where Universals are more popular could give you the correct values.

Hi there, thanks for the reply!

That sounds really logical, I cant wait to try this later when I get home.

I do live in the US so I dont know if that makes a difference, just mentioning it because you brought up Europe.

Thanks!

Universals are used in Europe, but are not required for FTA in North America, although they still work ok. Just have different settings.

If that still does not work for you, post the brand name of the LNB on the dish, or where you got it from if included in a "system", so we can determine what the settings should be.
